Indicative EC & EIA timeline in India

Actual duration depends on project type, data availability, seasonality of baseline, authority load, and hearing schedules. This page orients your planning; it is not a commitment to a fixed schedule.

1. Screening & categorisation — Category A / B, applicable schedule, and ECO scope fit. See NABET scope fit.
2. Terms of Reference (TOR) — scoping, baseline design, and TOR approval / revision as per route (SEIAA / MoEF&CC).
3. Baseline data — seasonal / multi-season monitoring as required for your sector and TOR.
4. EIA / EMP report — prepared within published NABET sector scope; pick a sector hub (e.g. mining, industrial parks).
5. Public consultation / hearing — as applicable to category and state procedure.
6. EC application & queries — Parivesh / authority-specific; use EC query support if clarifications are issued.
7. Post-EC compliance — conditions, monitoring, reports. See post-EC monitoring.
